The player of the year table is just
that. Points are awarded to each player for their finishing
position in each of the years seven competitions. The
player with the most points at the end of the season
is "Player of the Year".
The Ryder Cup Standings are made up of the same points
as the player of the year table, the only difference
being that they are calculated from the first event
following one match to the last one before the following
one. The top 10 players at the end of the TPC each year
qualify for the Ryder Cup. The captain then has two
wildcard selections.
